The Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to review the visa restrictions imposed on Ghana.
President Akufo-Addo revealed that Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey and the Ambbadador of Ghana, Dr. Barfour Adjei-Barwuah will meet to discuss the issue that has been dragging on for months.
The President who revealed this information during a question-and-answer session at the University of Chicago Institute of Politics hopes that the discussion will clarify all outstanding issues in order to allow the lifting Sanctions.

The US State Department made the decision following Ghana's refusal to provide travel documents to more than 7,000 Ghanaians detained for various offenses.
The government said the US government's allegations of non-cooperation on the issue of visa approval for Ghana were unfounded.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he has always cooperated and engaged US authorities in the treatment and removal of Ghanaians from the United States.
Despite this, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced the implementation of visa penalties for Ghana.
In one press release of 31 January 2019, DHS explained that the sanctions resulted from Ghana's inability to accept its nationals who were removed from the United States.
"Ghana has not respected its obligations under international law to accept the return of its nationals who have been expelled from the United States," said Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen. Nielsen.
