The government says it is developing a road map to end the problem of political vigilance in the country and other security-related issues.

Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said Thursday at the end of the dialogue between national security stakeholders in Aburi, in the eastern region, that a decision would be communicated.

This and other domestic security issues such as robbery, kidnappings and the like, said the minister, will be discussed.

He said security chiefs and political leaders briefed stakeholders behind closed doors on the type of work in progress and took into account reactions, ideas, advice and suggestions.

"We will also look at some of the steps to take to speed up what the local law enforcement agencies are trying to do. We will also look at the kind of international collaboration they need with international agencies, "he said.

The deputy of Offoase Ayirebi said the porous nature of the country's borders was cited as one of the reasons why people could easily enter and leave the country and commit crimes.

According to the minister, the roadmap will deal with the independence and behavior of security agencies.

He added that participants should establish a roadmap on how to meet these challenges.

This is the fourth dialogue organized by National Security under the government led by Akufo-Addo.

Oppong Nkrumah said such dialogues are essential for developing acceptable methods of solving current security problems.

Chief Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo, Minister of National Security Albert Kan-Dapaah, and Attorney General and Minister of Justice Gloria Akuffo.
