The government has filed a petition against Joy News's "Militia Documentary" with the National Media Commission (NMC), demanding a retraction order and an apology.
Indeed, the government insists that the content of this documentary be "misleading".
The Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, signed the petition on behalf of the government.
"In accordance with Article 15 of Law 449, the Government is demanding a declaration that the contested documentary by Manbadeh Awuni Azure and Joynews is misleading and constitutes a dishonest and deliberate misrepresentation purporting to cause apprehension, alarm and Indus public panic movement "It was saying.
"We sincerely hope that this complaint will be the subject of a serious investigation by the Commission in accordance with the journalistic standards published by the Commission and the ethics of the media profession," added the press release.
In the petition dated March 13, 2019, the government stated: "We view the disputed documentary as part of the boundless slander of Manbadeh Awuni Azure, Joynews and his affiliates, which was aimed at distorting government policy and dealing with serious problems of national interest against vigilance ".
