Government lacks strategy on relations with China to release Aisha Huang – Speaker

An international relations badyst has accused the government of justifying the refusal to punish a Chinese pillar of illegal mining in China.

This betrays a lack of strategic policy between Ghana and China, the Ag. Director of the Center for Asian Studies at the University of Ghana, observed Lloyd Amoah.

The comment has sparked widespread public condemnation of the government, which has waged an armed struggle against illegal minors since 2017.

The NDC of the opposition also put the knife in, condemning the Akufo-Addo government for betraying the Ghanaians in the fight for the protection of the environment.

As part of the list of critics, Dr Amoah said that Ghanaians have come to realize the reality of the damage caused by Chinese nationals in this country. According to him, Ghana has fallen asleep under his responsibility.

"When we look at the flood of events that has taken place over the last ten years and the presence of the Chinese in the mining sector of our country and the problems that have been raised, it is clear that the Ghanaian Republic, led by the bureaucrats and politicians, particularly did a mediocre job to address this problem, "said Dr. Amoah exalted.

But he argued that although some work has been done to develop a policy for both countries that remains inadequate as it lacks "a far-reaching strategy and tactics".
