Land and Natural Resources Minister Samuel A. Jinapor paid a working visit to the Ghana Integrated Aluminum Development Corporation (GIADEC) on Monday, ensuring the company’s leadership and staff of the vision and commitment government to develop an integrated aluminum industry in Ghana.
He said President Akufo-Addo’s vision was to develop an integrated aluminum industry in Ghana by establishing an aluminum refinery for the country’s bauxite and streamlining the entire value chain.
He is committed to work in close collaboration with the GIADEC in order to contribute to the realization of the industrial transformation program of the government, instruct the company to set up an interministerial steering committee, comprising all the ministries concerned, in order to guarantee the achievement of the vision and objectives of an integrated aluminum industry.

THE MINISTER OF LANDS AND NATURAL RESOURCES MAKES A WORKING VISIT TO GIADEC
The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, the Hon. Samuel A. Jinapor, told Accra today that the government is committed to supporting the Ghana Integrated Aluminum Development Corporation (GIADEC) to realize the vision of President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo.
“The president’s vision is to develop an integrated aluminum industry in Ghana by establishing an alumina refinery for our bauxite and streamlining the entire value chain,” said Mr. Jinapor.
He was speaking during a working visit to the headquarters of the Ghana Integrated Aluminum Development Corporation (GIADEC) today.
The minister said his ministry will work closely with GIADEC to drive the government’s industrial transformation program.
He was accompanied by Mr. Benito Owusu Bio, Member of Parliament from Atwima Nwabiagya North, the Chief Director of the Ministry, Professor Patrick Agbesinyale and other directors.
Mr. Jinapor tasked GIADEC to help set up an inter-ministerial steering committee comprising the relevant ministries to ensure that the vision and goals of an integrated aluminum industry are achieved.
For his part, the Director General (CEO) of GIADEC, Mr. Michael Ansah, who welcomed the Minister of the sector and his team, revealed that GIADEC is actively working on the selection of strategic investors as partners for the development of mines. of bauxite, refining of alumina. and smelting, as well as other downstream industries. In addition, he underlined how the GIADEC will execute its operations within the framework of international best environmental practices.
The Deputy Director General of GIADEC, Mr. Akwasi Osei Agyei, thanked the Minister and his team for the visit, saying they had had a fruitful meeting.
Industry analysts say a fully integrated aluminum industry in Ghana would boost the country’s economy, create jobs and transform the communities in which GIADEC will operate.
GIADEC is a fully Ghanaian entity whose mission is to be the first integrated aluminum company in Africa, creating sustainable value for our stakeholders and differentiating itself through profitable and environmentally safe operations.
