"We will also have a 'beautiful beach for all', with a coastline of 550 km that has not yet been exploited. In addition, we will build a 100-hectare recreation park intended to be an entertainment venue for the sub-region, and develop press trips and seven flagship tourist areas, "Fofana added.
The projects envisaged under the strategy include the reinforcement of the tourism code, the creation of additional tourist attractions with a 6,000 hectare land reserve, the creation of a tourism project bank and the redesign of the tourism sector. a "one-stop shop" for tourism. The government also plans to strengthen safety and health care, develop the aviation sector and increase the number of pbadengers at airports to three million, as well as train and certify 230,000 professionals in the sector.
"All this will create jobs and our intention is to create 375,000 new jobs.From 2025, we plan to accommodate four to five million tourists (3.08 million in 2016 and 3.47 million in 2017 In order to make this sector the fourth economic market, the country's mainstay and to make Côte d'Ivoire the fifth largest tourist power in the continent and co-leader of business tourism in Africa, "said Fofana.
