Cynthia Mamle Morrison, Minister for Gender Equality, Child Protection and Social Welfare, badured Ghana's School Feeders (GSFP) caterers that the government would soon settle all their arrears.
She said the government had already donated 186 million GH ¢ through the Ghana School Feeding Program (GSFP) to support the program and asked the caterers to keep the confidence of the government.
The minister made this statement during a working visit to Hohoe, in the Volta region.
She revealed that an audit was underway and that caterers who gave an inaccurate number of students whom they fed to deceive the system would be treated.
Ms. Gertrude Quashigah, National Coordinator of the School Feeding Program in Ghana, said the program would continue to train caterers and ensure that children receive a nutritious meal at school and urged them to work diligently to justify their commitment.
She called on caterers to add fruits to meals at least once a week.
"In everything you do, you have to be innovative and add value.There is an abundance of fruit in the area, so it will be nice to add fruit to the meals you prepare. for schoolchildren at least once a week. " make them happy, "she said.
The coordinator said her team was touring the regions to make sure the caterers were working as expected.
Some caterers badured the government of their desire to provide the best services to the children they served.
Some of the caterers who reported attending school with a high number of students advised unemployed youth to enroll in the program in order to reduce the pressure exerted on them.
