The government is putting in place various platforms to encourage people to report incidents of cybercrime and cybersecurity.

She added that these channels would be launched in the coming weeks by the ministry in collaboration with the Cybersecurity Center, the Ghana Police, Telecommunication Service Providers and Internet Watch Foundation (IWF).
This initiative aims to ensure the proper handling of crimes perpetrated online and is an integral part of the implementation of the online child protection (COP).
Speaking at the pinnacle of the celebration of National Girls' Day in ICT in Takoradi, Ms. Owusu-Ekuful said the government is introducing a Cybersecurity Bill with provisions for the protection of women and girls. children online.
"In this new bill, perpetrators of badgraphic revenge offenses (that is, distributing badually explicit images or videos without the consent of the parties involved) and badtortion will be prosecuted, "she said.
The National Cybersecurity Center, she said, is in the process of revising the framework of the COP, which will include a comprehensive roadmap for implementing child protection online.
Meanwhile, Ms. Owusu-Ekuful urged parents and teachers to show their interest in the use of technology by children and to put in place measures to protect them from cybercrime.
National Day of Girls in ICT
The theme of the national celebration of girls in ICT was "broadening the horizon and changing attitudes".
It creates a global arena that encourages girls and young women to consider a career in the rapidly expanding field of information and communication technologies (ICTs).
During the two days of celebration, 560 girls selected in six districts were trained in ICT and supervised by women in the sector.
The top 60 students received prizes ranging from laptops to Internet modems with a free one year subscription to the top ten data, money and plaques.
