The government announced its support to Ghana's journalists by implementing a media capacity building program, ABC News Ghana can report.
This initiative will strengthen the capacity of journalists to enable them to perform their tasks effectively.
A statement signed by the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, highlights what exactly the government is trying to achieve by putting in place This program.
The statement added that the government is setting up a coordination mechanism on the safety of journalists to protect journalists in the performance of their duties.
The celebration of World Press Freedom Day is taking place this year in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
