Isaac Kwame Asiamah, Minister of Youth and Sports, said the government is ready to publish the new National Youth Policy to guide the implementation of youth development programs and policies.

The minister said this in a speech read on his behalf at the launch of the third African Regional Conference of the International Communion of Scouts and Guides 2019, in Accra on Thursday.

Stephanie S. Sullivan, US Ambbadador to Ghana, said the fellowship's activities were consistent with the United States' vision of helping organizations and countries promote security, good governance and prosperity.
She advised community members to commit to promoting civic education for the youngest and to serve as good role models.
She said youth participation is important for development, adding that it reduces poverty and improves health care.
"The real future of our world lies in youth and we see it as very promising. We must therefore redouble our efforts to ensure that they are used in a positive way to promote development, "said Ms. Sullivan.
Scouts and country guides such as Ghana, Zambia, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Benin, Uganda, Kenya, Senegal, Cape Verde and Libya attended the conference.
