Dr Bawumia said the country's status as a lower-middle-income country was precarious and the country could retreat. This, he said, would allow the country to have sufficient resources to ensure the security of the SHS, National Health Insurance System (NHIS), reorganize the rail sector, build new roads, improve existing roads and respond to all other legitimate demands of the people.
"We must do this with our own resources because it is the safest and most reliable engine of sustainable development. It should be noted that this means that production and profits must be allowed before taxation, without giving up taxation altogether, "added Dr. Bawumia.
