Stromsodt, who heads the Herald's newsroom for about three years, will take up his new duties on May 6.
This decision also means a change for Herald publisher Korrie Wenzel, who will badume the title of publisher and editor.
Stromsodt has been working in journalism for 21 years. In addition to Herald Editor, she has been the editor of the city and the newspaper, the deputy editor of the Fargo-Moorhead Forum and the content director of Agweek magazine.
