Grant McCann leaves three new recruits on Hull City bench to face Swansea City

Grant McCann trusted Nouha Dicko to lead the Hull City attack at Swansea and left Tom Eaves on the bench for the opening of the championship at Liberty Stadium.

Eaves, who played only 45 minutes in pre-season, is sure to be among the substitutes alongside Matt Ingram, Ryan Tafazolli and Josh Bowler.

George Long gets the green light to start in the goals, while McCann also gives way to Dan Batty and Kevin Stewart in a three-man midfielder completed by Jackson Irvine.

As expected, the former captain, Markus Henriksen, has no place, the uncertainty surrounding his future before the transfer deadline next week. David Milinkovic is also injured in the ankle.

Swansea boss Steve Cooper makes his debut with Freddie Woodman, while Borja Baston will be invited to fill the void left by Oli McBurnie, who joined Sheffield United for a £ 18 million contract this week.

Hull City: George Long; Eric Lichaj, Reece Burke, Jordy de Wijs, Stephen Kingsley; Dan Batty, Kevin Stewart, Irvine Jackson, Jarrod Bowen, Kamil Grosicki, Nouha Dicko

Subs: Matt Ingram, Ryan Tafazolli, Tom Eaves, Jon Toral, Robbie McKenzie, Josh Bowler and Keane Lewis-Potter
