Accra, July 10, GNA – A group of activists from
the National Democratic Congress (NDC) calls for the resignation of the president
regional secretary of the party for Greater Accra, calling it
chief confusionist.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra, Mr.
Daniel Baccah, a party executive accused Mr. Theophilus Tetteh Chaie of
anti-Mahama nursing sentiments, disagreeing with the regional president and
also do not make efforts to solve many internal party problems that threaten
unity in the party.
"It's a regional secretary who does not
even take the time to respond to the letters of complaint addressed to him, and
this led to the situation where many internal problems were reported to his office
have remained unsolved ".
According to him, because of the nonchalance
regional secretary, the CND had opened the candidatures for the work of Parliament.
primary in the region with many members and supporters of the party
with another.
"How can we expect to win more seats in Great
Accra when we will most likely elect our PCs with a split front? we
believe that it will be in the party's interest if the Parliament
the primaries are put on hold so that party problems are dealt with first.
And the best place to start solving these problems is the resignation of the
Secretary, "said Mr. Baccah.
He revealed that as part of his malignancy
NDC of Greater Accra, the current regional secretary used to
constantly sabotaging the regional president, Joseph Ade Coker.
In particular, he told Mr. Tetteh Chaie
sanctioned party meetings without recourse to the regional president, one thing
which led President Ade Coker to be undermined in his role as chief of
party in the area.
"But the worst of all is the fact that Mr.
Theophilus Tetteh Chaie is a known anti-Mahama man, he does not like our
flag bearer and thinks that someone else would have been a better standard bearer than
John Mahama.
"Unfortunately for him, Mahama is
choice of the party, as shown by the result of our presidential primaries.
According to us, we can not have a general who succeeds in a war if his
his own lieutenant is a saboteur, so we invite Mr. Tetteh Chaie to do the
honorable thing and resign immediately from his post, "said Daniel Baccah.
Mr. Bakah's collaborator at the high table,
Solomon Donkor, said that the election of Theophilus Tetteh Chaie as secretary was
the loss of the NDC because man had shown in the past that it was a
confusionist.
"When he was a member of Ablekuma Central, we had
had the same problems in this constituency; disunity and internal confusion,
but the MP, rather than solving the problems, took sides and it cost us dearly
in national elections, "said Solomon Donkor.
He reiterated that feelings towards the
regional secretary within the NDC Greater Accra were not healthy and so it would be
in his interest to resign from his post for the sake of the party.
Meanwhile, Mr. Solomon Donkor also called
delegates to elect competent persons for miscellaneous parliamentary notes
constituencies of the region.
"Let's avoid those we know are only
looking for the PC position so that when the money comes for their campaigns they
will pocket and refuse to campaign properly, "he said.
