Greek scientist Antonis Antoniou led a team of researchers who developed a potentially "revolutionary" test that predicts a woman's risk of bad cancer.
The new study combines information on family history and hundreds of genetic markers with other factors, such as weight, to allow for the most comprehensive badessment possible, says Cancer Research UK.
Some general practitioners and specialists are testing the prediction tool as part of an initiative to screen for cancer earlier through tailored screening.
Researchers have indicated that high-risk women may receive preventive treatment or be offered more controls.
Professor Antonis Antoniou, principal investigator at the University of Cambridge, said: "This is the first time that anyone combines so many elements into a single cancer prediction tool. bad.
