Greg James has kept his promise to accompany a teacher to the heart of the 2019 BRIT Awards after being dropped by his boyfriend.

The host of Radio 1 Breakfast, who spoke on the phone to Katie, a primary school teacher, last week by phone, documented her wild night out on Instagram after Katie, 29, agreed to go to school. to be his platonic rendezvous.

They ended up partying until the early hours of this morning on Sam Fender's bus – and even managed to get back to the BBC Broadcasting House to reminisce their crazy night when the show aired this morning.

Katie, who brought her best friend Sophia, went to the O2 metro with Greg and even had the chance to walk on the red carpet with him while he mingled with his colleagues, including his radio colleague Jo Wiley.

Katie and Sophia then joined Greg at his table inside the glittering awards ceremony and watched Hugh Jackman's breathtaking opening number of The Greatest Showman just meters from the stage.

After the awards and the end of the show, Greg invited Katie to introduce her friend to one of the many after-parties.

They found themselves in Sam Fender's bus with many of Greg's friends, where they swallowed a custom-made Fender's Wallop beer and danced to the beat of the music.

At one point, a well-refreshed Greg found a story about his date on our KentLive sister paper and showed it to his Instagram followers.

"We did it!" he shouted excitedly in Katie's face.

A little later, Greg had a confession to make.

"OK, here's an update, we're intoxicated, Katie, who is supposed to be drunk, is not as drunk as we are, Katie is now our badistant." he revealed, as Katie nodded.

The new friends found partying in the night and stopped only to sleep a few hours before returning to the studio Radio 1 for an account.

Last week again, Katie had phoned the breakfast show to tell Greg that she had been dropped by her boyfriend for eight months on the eve of Valentine's Day.

"To make matters worse, it 's her birthday next week and I' ve spent a lot, a lot of money on gifts," she told the host.

"It sucks so much," Greg replied.

Smiling, he decided then that the only way to cheer him up would be to invite him into the BRITs.

"Oh, God, I'm so up," a shocked Katie answered.
