Power to some consumers was restored within two hours of the incident
The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) has been apologized for several times in the capital, Accra.
The company, in a statement, said the equipment was a result of "a conductor falling on a critical equipment within the Achimota Substation."
GRIDCo's Head of Public Relations, Albert Kwesi Quainoo, in the statement said, has been restored to many areas of the world.
"Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) announces for the information of the general public as a result of a conductor falling on critical equipment within the Achimota Substation.
Power to some consumers was restored within two hours of the incident. However, some limited customers are still in the business of service.
GRIDCo regrets and apologizes for the inconvenience caused to consumers, "the statement said.
Power Distribution Services (PDS) had earlier informed the public that the intermittent power output was due to unstable supply from GRIDCo.
Power supply in the country has never been better than in recent years.
