Isaac Umaru was found dead in his room
The residents of New Amanful, a fishing community in Ahanta West District, in the Western Region, were in shock after the horrific killing of a resident, in the early hours of Saturday 30th. March.
The deceased, Israel Umaru, better known as Kobby, in his thirties, was allegedly attacked and killed at dawn by suspected armed thieves, who reportedly went to the house he was occupying.
Some neighbors told Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson of Connect FM that they heard gunshots at dawn but they thought it was the routine shooting of the 2BN military base in Apremdu, a few meters from the community.
"We only woke up to hear the sad news before we knew that the gun we heard was coming from the victim's house," a neighbor told Paa Kwesi.
According to the neighbors, they are colleagues of the deceased who fell on the body lifeless in the morning after several calls on his phone to join them and join them at work remained unanswered.
The alleged thieves allegedly stole with a 70-inch television.
A screwdriver would have been used to stab the victim on the nose, back and head was recovered in the room by the police
The body has since been transferred to a private morgue in Funko, near Apremdu, by Kwesimintsim police while the investigation began.
