Gunn tweeted his gratitude shortly after the first announcement of this news by Deadline.

Gunn badumed responsibility for the offensive tweets now deleted and explained them in a statement at the time.
"Many people who have followed my career know that when I started, I considered myself a provocateur, making movies and telling scandalous and taboo jokes," he wrote partly at the time.
"As I have discussed publicly many times over, as I grew up as a person, my work and my humor also … I had a habit of doing a lot offending jokes, I do not do it anymore. "
Despite a wave of public support for Gunn, including Guardian actor, Dave Bautista, Disney could not stand the situation.
"The offensive attitudes and statements found on James' Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with the values of our studio, and we have severed our business relationship with him," said Alan Horn, president of Walt Disney Studios. communicated.
After his dismissal, Gunn wrote, "I understand and accept business decisions.
"All I can do now, beyond my sincere and sincere regret, is to be the best human being I can be."
