Pep Guardiola emphasized the crucial importance of Vincent Kompany for the club cause – on and off the pitch.
32 years old Belgian central defender has long since become a legend in the city after 10 and a half years of success at the club with unprecedented success since joining the Hamburg Blues in the summer of 2008.
Colossus on the field with his intelligence and game management reflected by a fierce warrior spirit, Kompany has also become a key figure of the field.
Kompany's contract expires this summer with the club and Vincent should have talks on his future.

But in the long run, the boss of the city revealed that he was eager to use Kompany's experience and to see him play a role outside the field at the club.
"I'd like to (keep it at the club)," said Pep.
"He has something special about a lot, a lot of things. To represent this club in the best way.
"Personality on and off the field, he speaks six or seven languages to be able to communicate well.
"We need people for what they have done in the past to help new players of the next generation. He helped us build the club we have now. "
Interviews
Regarding the question of a possible new contract, Guardiola said the discussions would determine what would be the best way forward for the player and the club.
And he said that to reach a conclusion, many factors would come into play.
"I think it's a problem with which we have to talk with Vincent," Pep added. "We have no doubt about its quality.

"We miss him when he can not play, he is our captain and, on the ground, he gives us something more than few central defenders in the world can offer us.
"He's amazing, but the reality is he's played a few games in the last five years.
"That's the situation – we will set the table with the club. We will discuss with his agent and find the best solution for both.
Strong points
"The question of feelings is so important. He has been here for a long time and helped us build what we have now. For new people who came after we take it. No, we can not forget that.
"I do not like clubs saying OK it's over, go ahead, but at the same time, there's a time when it's over.
"It's not my decision, like him, like with Sergio, David to always be with the club.
"I've often talked to him about how we can help. But that's his decision with the club and his agent. I'm not involved, I just give my opinion. "
