Unknown gunmen allegedly murdered a 58-year-old driver.
The driver was reportedly shot dead after the gunmen punctured his car’s tires with spikes. As we speak, the Northwestern Police are looking for these men.
The deceased is identified as Sello Kgasi and according to reports, after realizing his tires had been punctured, he got out of the car to change his tire to be shot by two men who allegedly spoke to Shona.
After murdering him, they also took away his weapon. There were two female passengers in his car and these two passengers were also robbed by these armed strangers.
Northwestern Police Captain Sam Tselanyane confirmed the incident saying it happened on Friday.
He said;
“The vehicle was punctured after passing spikes that spread out on the road near the Solar Panels camp.
Kgasi reportedly stopped the vehicle to repair the puncture, but was ambushed and shot by two suspects armed with guns.
As a result, Kgasi was fatally injured and the suspects stole his personal pistol and other personal effects. In addition, the suspects also stole an undisclosed sum of money and their cell phones from the two passengers. According to reports, the suspects who are still at large were communicating to Shona. “
The provincial commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, also reacted to this and in his reaction, he said;
“The public, especially motorists, are cautioned to be extra vigilant when approaching this area at night as it becomes a crime hotspot. We will spare no effort to ensure that alleged perpetrators are brought to justice. “
