While we are all waiting for the final version of iOS 4.2, the inability of the iPad to multitask more and more is getting more and more odious, especially when our iPhones are buzzing in 4.1. Even worse, an iPad under 4.2 obviously uses a multitasking scheme well suited to an iPhone, not a tablet. Despite the screen enlargement, there is no way to leave a video window open in an unused portion of the screen in Safari, or to leave a Skype dialer superimposed on other tasks. Nobody wants a full office experience, but a widget the size of an iPhone that can be moved on the screen would make the iPad really special.
Julian Horsey of Geeky Gadgets has created a hack that shows what the future might hold, if Apple loses any sense of design and taste in the near future, with a clever clip that connects an iPhone to an iPad. With this two-headed monstrosity, you can perform multiple tasks exactly the way you want. This is not for sensitive souls – not because the hack is particularly difficult, but because it should actually be seen in public.
