Hajia Hamdatu Ibrahim, first vice-president of the Convention People's Party (PCP), has been named the new national president of the PCP.

This follows the enshrinement of Professor Namund Edmund Nminyem Delle Chiir VIII as Nandom Naa for the traditional zone.

The PCP Central Committee installed Hajia Hamdatu Ibrahim as Acting President and Party Leader as a result of the unanimous acceptance of the resignation of Professor Edmund Delle as President and Chief.
