What is the story?
The fallout from NXT Takeover: Phoenix has resulted in the WWE bringing back an old program created in the days of Attitude.
Aleister Black, Ricochet & Velveteen Dream will face Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa next Sunday at the SuperBowl halftime show.
In case you did not know …
WWE Heat is an additional TV show launched by the company in August 1998. This is the second main show aired on television prior to the creation of SmackDown the following year.
The program featured various WWE superstars, but the highlight was the WWE match between Mankind & The Rock in January 1999 at the Super Bowl XXXIII halftime show.
WWE Heat retired in 2008, but will return next week at this year's Super Bowl halftime show, which will feature the New England Patriots against the Los Angeles Rams.
The heart of the problem
The match was made as a result of the fight that broke out after the takeover: Phoenix is off. Dream came to confront Gargano & Ciampa and was interrupted by Cole.
Black would climb the ramp to face Ciampa, which would bring out Ricochet and lead to a mbadive fight that was making its way backstage and was divided by Triple H.
Cole, Ricochet and Gargano have all competed for the North American NXT Championship since the title's creation last year while the NXT championship was at the center of the quarrel between Black and Ciampa with all the other members of the team match. of six men in the running title too.
And after?
The half-time Super Bowl show will be presented by the American pop band Maroon 5 and will feature rappers Travis Scott and Big Boi. The show should begin around 8:30 pm to 9:00 pm AND.
With the rebirth of WWE Heat, NXT's list members have another opportunity to demonstrate their abilities and prove why they are one of the most valued brands of the WWE.
