<p style=Alonso has not been at his best in recent months, but to his credit, he has responded well to Emerson's heightened competition. It was the Spaniard who helped Cesar Azpilcueta's goal to put Chelsea tied with Cardiff.

Emerson should now have a chance to impress in the Premier League, an opportunity that few opportunities have presented for the Italian under Sarri this season.

Sarri also added that N'Golo Kante, Eden Hazard and Callum Hudson-Odoi are all likely to play against Chris Hughton's team.
