Leicester midfielder Hamza Choudhury has been accused of misbehavior by the Football Association for comments made on social media.
The 21-year-old wrote the posts in 2013 and 2014 and apologized earlier this week.
The FA stated that the comments constituted an "aggravated offense" in that they included a reference to ethnicity and / or race and / or badual orientation.
Choudhury, a graduate of the Leicester Academy, has until May 13 to answer.
One of his messages contained a racial reference, and in another, he said he did not "feel sorry" for anyone committing suicide.
"They do not represent my true beliefs," said Loughborough-born England international Under-21, who had criticized women's football in another position.
"As a professional, I learned a lot in my first years of professional activity – enough to know that some of the rash comments I've made before are both hurtful and offensive.
"I am deeply sorry for all those I have offended – both since their recirculation."
