Fortunately, this suite manages to be of relatively equal size to the first Happy feast of deathbut, in itself, equally satisfactory conditions.
The film opens this time on Ryan (Phi Vu), roommate of the first love of the film, Carter (Israel Broussard), living several times the same day after being murdered by a person masked by a baby mask, to Like Tree (Jessica Rothe) day before. I am happy to announce that not only 2U recognize the importance of not negating the implications for the development of Tree's character, but it is based on its principle to explore new territories and to flesh out Tree's inner conflicts in a new and fascinating way. Even the idea that Tree's temporal loop mechanism must remain unexplained is handled with intelligence and care, allowing the first film to remain independent without the need for this clumsy science-fiction explanation to keep things clean.
But if there is one thing that makes 2U stand out from the first movie is that is a film decidedly more and more boring, and it plays to his advantage.
