Lawyer for Haruna Iddrisu and Ato Forson, lawyer James Mensah Kulley wrote to the management of “The Herald” newspaper to request an apology and retraction for a malicious publication.

It comes after the Herald Newspaper ran an article about the Minority Leader and Ranking Member of Parliament’s Finance Committee with the caption “CSO NAMES HARUNA IDDRISU & ATO FORSON IN GNPC BRIBERY SCANDAL …. in Parliament.

The article sought to show that Haruna Iddrisu and Ato Forson had organized a meeting between the executive secretary of the Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA), Mr. Mensah Thompson on the one hand and agents of Aker Energy and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation of the other.

The publication also sought to suggest that the two pushed Mensah Thompson to grant a hearing to Aker Energy and GNPC agents by making their offer.

“My clients have asked me to record that at no time and at any time did they facilitate any meeting between Mr. Mensah Thompson on the one hand and Aker Energy and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) on the other share, which led to some money exchanging hands on the $ 1.65 billion oil block transaction, ”reads a letter to the newspaper’s management.
