In the study published in the journal PLOS Genetics, researchers from National Taiwan University badyzed 18,424 Han-aged Chinese adults aged 30 to 70 years old. Interactions between the genetics of individuals and their self-reported exercise routines have been examined.
Researchers specifically examined five measures of obesity, including BMI, body fat percentage and waist-to-hip ratio. They also examined other measures of obesity closely related to metabolic problems.
The researchers said that in terms of obesity, genetics was not a fate and that its effects could be alleviated by several types of regular exercises.
