LOS ANGELES: A Hawaiian Airlines flight, with 207 pbadengers on board, returned three times to the Los Angeles International Airport before being canceled on Friday, Feb. 1, according to local media reports.
The HA33 flight departed three times for Maui and returned after three attempts due to "unrelated and unrelated fouls", the airline said in a statement, according to the KITV4 television channel.
All pbadengers received refunds and a $ 100 credit for a future flight, according to the KITV4 report quoting the airline.
Pbadengers also received hotel rooms as well as vouchers for dinner and breakfast, and were greeted on other flights.
Two of the returns took place after takeoff from the plane, and another before, according to another report from KTLA5 News.
"We understand the disappointment of our customers and deeply regret that their travel plans have been disrupted," said the airline in a statement, according to KTLA 5.
The airline has attributed this warning to the fact that the flight over the sea has been clbadified as long-haul (ETOPS), CNN reported.
"These flights have stricter security requirements because of the greater distance between the appropriate airports," the airline said in a statement quoted by CNN.
"When there is an anomaly on a land flight, it can and must often continue to its destination, but ETOPS flights are subject to stricter safety standards. redundant anomalies with an abundance of caution, "the airline added.
