‘Hawkeye’ release date raises questions about ‘Ms. Wonder’

[ad_1]

Last week, Disney Plus decided it was time to finally start teasing the upcoming Hawkeye series starring Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld. This included the first official non-spy image of the pair of them, but also a release date:

November 24, 2021

It’s not that unexpected. We thought Hawkeye would arrive later in the year, and it’s a busy fall for Disney. It has three films to release by New Years, Shang Chi (September 3), Eternals (November 5), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (December 17). It is also broadcast What if…? on Disney Plus starting August 11, which ends October 13, about a month before Hawkeye.

And yet, all of this seems like bad news for a series that Disney has repeatedly said will also arrive in 2021, Ms. Marvel, with newcomer Iman Vellani.

It’s been months since we’ve heard anything about this show other than the newscast, and yet, every time that happens, Disney swears it’s coming in 2021. But with the schedule as it is. show up right now, it’s hard to see that happen unless Disney doubles up with Hawkeye, which will continue until the end of the year.

It seems likely Ms. Marvel will debut in 2022, which might not be the worst thing, considering there’s a pretty clear gap in when her show could debut after Spider-Man and Hawkeye. Roughly January until Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness debuts on March 25, 2022, there’s a blank space, a prime time for Ms. Marvel to air, and always way ahead of the date. current from Captain Marvel’s upcoming film, Wonders, which is supposed to co-star with Ms. Marvel after her origin story. It’s November 11, 2022.

We don’t have dates yet for other upcoming Disney Plus shows, She-Hulk and Moon Knight, both of which are expected to arrive in 2022, but likely not as early as winter. There’s also Season 2 of Loki to consider, the only Disney Plus show confirmed to return (WandaVision isn’t, Falcon and the Winter Soldier is turning into a movie, Captain America 4). . I’m not sure if Hawkeye will get a second season or turn into a full Kate Bishop show without Clint. Either way, I would expect Kate to stay well beyond one season of the show.

Disney’s program has become infinitely more difficult to analyze, given all the crossovers between television and film. Black Widow got caught up in this mess, as he was supposed to introduce Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina before she showed up in Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Black Widow. had to stream before Hawkeye, where Yelena is supposed to appear. Complicated stuff, but maybe things will work out soon.
