HBO boss reviews Game of Thrones derivative projects as The Long Night approaches production

Game of thrones ends this year (sob), but that does not mean that HBO has finished with Westeros for the moment.

A spin-off prequel (perhaps) called The long night is in the works – more on that later – but with such a gold mine of content to adapt, we are intrigued to see what HBO has planned for frankness, especially in the climate current media of Disney Milking Marvel and Star wars for all that they are worth.

Interestingly, HBO programming president Casey Bloys said The Hollywood journalist that the network wants to avoid this approach and opt for a strategy of "least, it's more".

"[[[[Game of thrones is]a big world and a big IP, "he said correctly. We will do the pilot, see how it goes. Is it possible that we do another? May be.

"But I do not want HBO to become a broadcast network only Game of thrones or Game of thrones prequels. What we do is a much more diverse list, so we're not in a position to have to get the Game of thrones the franchise is running or the lights are turning off at HBO. This is not the situation and it has never been.

"I think it would be crazy not to try the prequel and see what else is going on […] but we want to be careful not to overdo it. "

Returning to that The long night Driver, who has a fairly solid cast, Bloys confirmed again that they plan to start shooting in the summer, and only then will they even begin to consider the other options.

"No other project will pick up anything until it's launched and then we'll think about the possibility of doing another one," he added.

"We just want to launch this one, put it to the test and then we'll think about other options."

Game of thrones Season 8 will debut in April. The show airs on HBO in the United States and NOW TV (S1-7 streaming from March 1) and Sky Atlantic in the UK. Season 7 is now available for purchase on DVD, Blu Ray or digital download.
