It turns out that we do not need to wait for the iOS 4.1 jailbreake development team after all: if you have a jailbroken iPhone 3G or 3GS running the iOS 4.1 beta, just download HDR Camera Enabler Cydia from the ModMy repository to enable high dynamic range snapshots on your latest generation iPhone.
Presumably, this same tweak will also work with the official iOS 4.1 jailbreak of the development team, which has not been released yet. Unfortunately, for the moment, version 4.1 beta is only available for the beta version, making it available only for a very small subset of jailbreakers. If you want to try, Redmondpie offers a series of good tutorials on how to jailbreak the beta version of iOS 4.1 on the iPhone 3GS or iPhone 3G.
