The notion of divine providence or control of Jehovah God in a system that depends solely on universal adult suffrage (the will of the people) poses difficult questions, so to speak.
Indeed, since Jehovah God is in control, we should not simply rest in his divine providence, but vividly show his character in the choices we make.
In truth, political leaders can emerge under the providence of Jehovah God, but to the extent that we choose them joyfully, we will be held accountable as to whether they are good leaders or not.
Some of us, in fact, couldn’t hide our utter disbelief at ex-President Mahama’s somewhat bizarre claim that it was God who made the NDC lose the NPP in the 2016 general election. so that Ghanaians can differentiate between “ water and alcohol ”.
If you may remember, before the 2019 NDC flag bearer race, ex-President Mahama somewhat falsely claimed that he was vying for the place because he had a duty of God to redeem Ghanaians. suffering from socio-economic slavery (emphasis mine).
The overriding question that any discerning Ghanaian should then ask themselves is: Did the so-called Redeemer Mahama succeed in redeeming poor and disadvantaged Ghanaians from extreme economic slavery during the eight years of NDC administration? ?
We have heard and read, albeit with extreme disbelief, to former Chairman Mahama and the NDC loyalists the somewhat sophisticated argument that the NPP government had disrupted the economy in less than four years in power and will therefore return very much. probably at the Jubilee House in 2021 with the full of God. approval (emphasis mine).
It was extremely nauseating for former President Mahama and his many supporters to continue to hide behind Bible accounts and put the words in God’s mouth.
Sad but true, the invocation of the name of God in all facets of life in Ghana has been the norm. In Ghana today, all kinds of people have made a habit of hiding behind the Holy Book (Bible) and shamefully proselytizing and deceiving unsuspecting truth seekers.
Yes, pretentious geeks have succeeded in proselytizing and swindling unsuspecting truth seekers, who only want adulterated, more “appetizing”, watered-down and compromised forms of truth for convenience.
Likewise, political manipulators often sought refuge in the Holy Book and attempted to manipulate part of the voting public into accepting that it is God who predestines politicians to rule the nation.
Of course, political crooks will always succeed in brainwashing some gullible truth seekers who have dubbed themselves as eligible voters by accepting such a red herring.
Let us even agree that it was God who appointed Mahama to run the affairs of the nation. But would the same God allow the people of Ghana to suffer again under the callous government of the NDC?
If we were to accept die-hard apologists for somewhat fallacious biblical accounts that God ordains every ruler, then we can infer, for example, that the late Saddam Hussein of Iraq was deceived by God. But what was his fate following his perceived shenanigans? Was he not brought to his knees by God? He was indeed humiliated.
The overriding question then again is: Did the omnipresent God also ordain leaders like Milosevic of Serbia, Charles Taylor of Liberia, Daddy Iddi Amin of Uganda, Mengistu of Ethiopia, Neto of Angola, Najibullah of Afghanistan, who brought only socio-economic anguish? to their citizens as happened under the administration of NDC?
Truth be told, if these rulers were ordained by God to rule their respective nations, then they failed miserably and were dethroned by God as a result.
Somehow, former President Mahama and his supporters refused to acknowledge that his calamitous mistakes in decision-making amid alleged corruption, untold economic hardship and dumsor crippling business largely contributed to his humiliating defeat in the 2016 election, but not God who made him lose.
How can former President Mahama blame God for his rejection in discerning Ghanaians, while his brother Ibrahim Mahama revoltingly took advantage of his presidency and blatantly refused to pay import taxes of more than 12 million GH?
Why must His Excellency President Mahama blame God for his historic defeat when he blatantly ceded 58% of Ghana’s bauxite to his brother Ibrahim Mahama much to the disgust of discerning Ghanaians?
How former President Mahama was able to flawlessly give apologists like Ms. Akua Donkor of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) two four-wheel drive cars and a luxury bungalow (estimated at $ 470,000) for no work done , then turn around and blame God for his historic electoral defeat?
Why must former President Mahama blame God for his humiliating defeat when he deliberately drove economic growth from 14% in 2011 to a miserable 3.4% in December 2016?
God could not have brought about the defeat of ex-President Mahama when he catastrophically increased Ghana’s total debt from GH 9.5 billion in 2009 to a staggering GH 122.4 billion in December 2016 with little evidence.
His Excellency President Mahama cannot blame God for his defeat when he drastically reduced GDP from $ 47 billion in 2011 to $ 40 billion in December 2016.
How can former President Mahama blame God when the agricultural sector has seen constant negative growth?
God could not have organized the defeat of ex-President Mahama when the industry sector experienced appalling growth. .
The point is, former President Mahama believes Ghanaians still suffer from chronic memory loss and can continue to take us for granted.
