Unfortunately, Mike's situation is not unique. In the United Kingdom, suicide is the leading cause of death among men under 45 – 12 men commit suicide every day! These statistics are tragic, incredibly scary and heartbreaking – but most of all, they are unacceptable and must change!
Mike's decision upset our world, we can not understand or accept a life without Mike and there are no words to describe grief, stress, sadness, shock and the unbelief in which we are all drowning right now. .
That's why we decided to create a legacy for Mike by doing everything in our power to change this heartbreaking epidemic, so that no family will ever suffer the same suffering as us. But more importantly, we want to make sure that all men know where to get help, and no man ever thinks that suicide is his only option.
As a result, we have chosen to work closely with CALM (Campaign Against Miserable Living – the largest charity in the fight against male suicide, www.thecalmzone.net) to educate young men about depression, to break down stigma and develop practical resources to help people in distress. and already in crisis.
