Living Faith Church founder Bishop David Oyedepo banned young people with headphones from entering the church.
Bishop Oyedepo explained that young people with headphones are not ready to hear the words of God, which is why they should not be allowed to enter the Church.
He pointed out that the headphones are designed by the devil to keep young people from moving forward in life.
The clergyman spoke as he addressed his members during Sunday’s service at Church headquarters in Ota, Ogun state.
According to Oyedepo: “We live in very turbulent times. Young generation, please listen to me: all those things that you plug in your ear will block your way. It’s designed by the devil to stand in your way.
“No time to hear from God. Many have never heard of God. They even plug it in anywhere, in the street: noise, noise, noise! Zero access to divine guidance. Noise in the morning, afternoon, night.
“We had a situation in South Korea, I saw it in a publication. Today, 10,000 churches would close in 10 years, or an average of 1,000 churches per year. Why? Children and young people are going to sit in church (with headphones): don’t hear anything sir.
“I know they don’t do that here because the CCU (Crowd Control Unit) is there, you plug something in your ears, while you’re in church?” Never. Go somewhere else. You never sit tight, hear the Word, or stay on the road. Life is about discipline. I began to understand the Word when I was 16 years old. I reacted accordingly.
