MULTNOMAH COUNTY, OR (KPTV) – Health authorities have identified another possible case of measles in a resident of Multnomah County.
The Oregon Health Authority treats this case as a confirmed case. This is the fifth case this year in a resident of Multnomah County, according to an OHA spokesperson.
The four previous cases in Multnomah County were directly related to the ongoing epidemic in Clark County, where health officials confirmed 65 cases of measles and are investigating a suspected case.
Oregon health authorities have not identified a link between the possible new case and the outbreak in Clark County.
The OHA Sunday afternoon has identified two possible sites and hours of exposure:
- Portland International Airport: Tuesday, February 19 at 9 pm to 10:30 am
- Randall Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel Emergency Department: Tuesday, February 19 at 10:30 pm, Wednesday, February 20th at 2:30 pm
The Oregon Health Authority keeps a list of all possible public exhibits. This list can be found right here.
Anyone who thinks they have been exposed is asked to call their health care provider before going to the doctor's office to develop a plan that avoids exposing another person.
People who think they have measles symptoms should not go directly to a doctor's office, an emergency treatment center or an emergency department – unless they have a medical emergency – without phoning. in advance.
