Health officials to discuss HPV and cervical cancer control

SHARJAH: A group of medical scientists, doctors and elite health officials are meeting this week in Sharjah to discuss the latest news in the fight against human papillomavirus infection, or HPV, and Cervical cancer of the uterus.

The forum comes at a time when the elimination of cervical cancer is becoming a global priority. HPV is one of the leading causes of cancer deaths among women worldwide, including in countries in the Middle East and North Africa.
