Amazing new statistics on young women and heart attacks, revealed in a new study published in the journal Circulation.
Between 1995 and 2014, the number of women aged 35 to 54 admitted to hospital for a heart attack increased by 10%.
The number of men of the same age has increased by 3%.
The researchers said that one of the reasons for this sharp increase could be that young women are more likely to benefit from health insurance than younger men and more likely to seek medical care.
Each year, nearly 800,000 Americans have a heart attack, according to the CDC.
And over the past two decades, risk factors for heart disease such as obesity and diabetes have increased.
