Hearts fans invited to come to Tynecastle for the final day of the News News Cup night

The Evening News now urges Hearts fans to head to the square in front of Tynecastle Park's main booth Friday at 1 pm to take part in a very special photo shoot.

Those who will show up will figure in what is sure to be a striking collage on the cover page of Saturday's Evening News.

Euan McGrory, editor of Evening News, said: "All the experts and bookmakers lost Hearts and are buried at half-time, but we think the 12th man, the army of Tynecastle fans, can cheer Craig Levein's team and bring the cup back to Edinburgh.

"We want as many fans as possible to visit the square outside Tynecastle's main booth at 1pm on Friday, where our photographer will be present to take pictures.

"We are going to use these photos to create a totally unique front page of the Evening News Cup Finale tomorrow, with as many faces as Hearts fans can be proud of.

"Imagine what a memory it will be for them when Hearts brings the cup back along the M8 on Saturday night."

A Hearts spokesperson said: "The club hopes that as many Hearts fans as possible will take this unique opportunity to be part of this historic weekend by showing their support and making the cover of the Edinburgh Evening News. . "

Craig Levein's men will head to Hampden Park as outsiders on Saturday for the final of the Scottish showcase against the league champions.

On Thursday, Hearts revealed that there would be no official event the same day if the cup was won, but that the coach would return to Tynecastle via Calder Road in the evening.

An open-air parade would be held on Sunday if they succeeded, even if the Edinburgh marathon was held in the capital the same day.

The parade would begin at 3 pm after a civic reception at Edinburgh City Chambers, the bus heading to Tynecastle Park for 4:30 pm.

Upon arrival at Tynecastle, the team and coaches plan to parade the trophy around the field.

The stadium will be open to supporters for free from 2.30 pm and anyone wishing to take a turn around the pitch must have cleared the turnstiles before 15.15.

The field celebrations are expected to last until 5:30 pm.

The last time Hearts staged an open-air bus parade, after beating the Hibs 5-1 in the Scottish Cup final, fans descended on the streets of Edinburgh by tens of thousands.

The final of the Scottish Cup takes place on Saturday 25 May and starts at 15h.
