Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah
Ghanaians have been invited to help the Ghanaian police by providing them with information on the shady activities taking place in their communities.
Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said that if the police did not receive any information, they would not be able to fully fight crime in the country.
The minister was reacting to the wave of kidnappings and murders in the country.
Ghana continues to record cases of murder and kidnapping; the growing insecurity in the country and forcing Ghanaians to wonder if the security services are really doing their job.
However, speaking of Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo", Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said that without the aid and the corporation of the general public, the police services could not do their job.
"The government has instructed the security agencies to stand up and do to solve these problems. The police also need the society of the general public; give information if necessary. While continuing to encourage security agencies, we also need to help them provide information. Security is well equipped … we have to make sure people always have confidence in security agencies, "he said.
