Zenith Bank Ghana Limited Managing Director Henry Oroh has been appointed Executive Director of Zenith Bank Plc.
His appointment was duly approved by the Board of Directors of Zenith Bank Plc.
The appointment of Mr. Oroh, according to a statement from the Bank, is in line with the Bank's tradition and succession strategy of training the leaders of the interior.
His appointment, noted the statement, would come into effect on September 1, 2019.
He said his appointment was approved by Nigeria's central bank.
Mr. Oroh joins Zenith Bank Plc's board of directors and has strong credit and marketing, operations, information technology, treasury and impressive leadership skills.
Career
Zenith Bank Ghana® is an experienced banker with over two decades of practice.
He began his illustrious career in 1992 at Citibank, where he spent seven years in operations, treasury and marketing.
The MD joined Zenith Bank in February 1999 and has worked in various groups and departments within the Zenith Group office.
His expertise covers the areas of operations, computer science, treasury, marketing, manufacturing, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, the public sector, consumer goods and business banking and business development.
In April 2012, he was seconded to Zenith Bank Ghana Limited as Executive Director and became Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer in February 2016.
As General Manager, he has successfully led the phenomenal growth of the Zenith brand both in the Ghanaian market and in the West African sub-region.
Educational context
Mr. Oroh holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Benin, Benin City, and an MBA from the University of Lagos.
He also holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and an honorary member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.
In addition to the prestigious degrees he holds, he has also completed several executive leadership and management programs at Harvard Business School, Columbia Business School in New York, the University of Chicago, the United States.
