Vanessa 'Miss Vanjie' Matteo stole the show from the final of 'RuPaul's Drag Race'
She is strong and she is bitter. Miss Vanjie had her segment in the final, protesting her elimination. The queen appeared on the main stage, holding her face on a cardboard cutout and a petition signed by strangers in the street.
Fans saw the drag queen roaming the streets, asking pedestrians (and dogs) to sign. After watching Vanjie's efforts to put his face on the wheel, RuPaul shrugged and Vanjie announced winner of season 11.
"For real?" Vanjie asked RuPaul.
"No, no," replied RuPaul.
Aquaria, winner of season 10 of RuPaul's Drag Race, has defeated his last look
It is a phoenix reborn from its ashes. Aquaria, winner of Season 10, returned to RuPaul drag racing race to crown America's Next Drag Superstar. She came in shades of amber and amethyst, both arms covered with feathers.
Some fans have compared the look of Aquaria to several RuPaul drag racing race tracks from the past, including the track look of Season 7 of Sasha Belle. Some also compared Aquaria's hairstyle to Acid Betty's makeup and Aquaria's to Kim Chi's.
Another fashion moment of the final was RuPaul drag racing race participating in season 11, Shuga Cain. According to his Instagram, Shuga's inspiration for his look "comes from the story of Juan Diego who was visited by the Virgin of Guadalupe on the hill of Tepeyac".
Nina West won Miss Congeniality
It is not surprising that Nina West wins Miss Congeniality, Miss Congeniality's Monet X Change, of Season 10. The winner of this year's Miss Congeniality was chosen by the nominees instead of being chosen by the fans.
In addition, Nina West's victory comes after recognition by celebrities such as artist Rihanna, politician Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez and Pentatonix member Scott Hoying.
After receiving the crown, RuPaul asked if there was anything Nina West wanted to say. Nina responded with an unenthusiastic "meh", darkening RuPaul's response after her lip sync with Silky Nutmeg Ganache.
Brooke Lynn Hytes and Yvie Strangely did the top two
RuPaul chose the top four in the last episode of RuPaul drag racing race – Akeria C. Davenport, the silky ganache with nutmeg, Brooke Lynn Hytes and Yvie Oddly. RuPaul turned the steering wheel and landed on the silky ganache with nutmeg. Silky chose to combine his words with Brooke Lynn Hytes for "Bootylicious" by Destiny's Child. Brooke Lynn Hytes won the award.
The next pair was Yvie Oddly and Akeria C. Davenport, who clashed with Rihanna's "S.O.S." Yvie Oddly and Brooke Lynn Hytes, the first two, then turned to Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory" title.
