We live in a time when television shows seem to last longer than in the past without us realizing how fast time pbades.
For some, this may seem The Big Bang Theory It's only been a few years since it's been almost 12 years. After years of thinking that it was a real rebirth of sitcom, what do critics and fans think about it now?
At this point, there may be some fans who think that the show has outpaced it's time. Let's see if TBBT ends at the right time or should have ended several years ago.
Some critics did not like the sitcom at the beginning
Take a break in 2007 when The Big Bang Theory started and you will probably remember a small group of critics who thought that the sitcom still had room to grow. While some said that it was a diamond after a long period of drought, others thought that it was strictly a stereotypical issue, with a scope still wider geek culture.
These punches against geeks took off with many viewers, especially with those who aspired to a similar show. Some of these people probably resembled the characters of the time, which gave the opportunity to make fun of the scientific intellectuals compared to all the others.
Although you may have found some skeptics in the beginning, odds began to climb in a year or two. In 2010, it was one of the most watched sitcoms on television at a time when just about every sitcom was below average.
Of course, no one can blame Jim Parsons for playing against Sheldon Cooper.
Is Sheldon Cooper really funny or squeaky?
Sheldon's basic concept has always been hilarious in the abstract. Having someone with a hyper Einstein brain who is trying to interact within a normal society seems fun, just by explanation.
While other series have used concepts similar to intellectuals and plebeians, Sheldon's interaction in the world has always been well interpreted by Jim Parsons. He deserved all the Emmys he won.
You can even say that he was the only one to keep the show popular. As wide as all the characters are, it seems that we all know someone like Sheldon. Maybe they do not quite have I.Q. Sheldon did it, but they are smart enough not to stand stupid on the part of people in junior jobs.
Moreover, making fun of geeks may have worn out its reception due to the fact that more geeks are being taken seriously.
"Revenge of the Nerds" at "TBBT 'is kind of a complete circle
Those of you old enough to remember when Revenge of the Nerds was released in 1984 will remember how ironic the film was. At that time, pop culture was sticking to geek culture as if they were outcasts that would never fit.
Twenty years later, we all know how much real revenge took place when these geeks became rich during the technology and comunity boom.
The Big Bang Theory returned to the original nerds well, which led to a sharper geek satire, as recently Silicon Valley on HBO. Some may find that they are more intelligent about geek culture.
TBBT The sitcom formula was a bit like a return to old sitcoms where you have one line spacing in each line of script. Although it still works well, many geeks are rolling eyes recently TBBT prolonged popularity. Most of them now require a little more respect as they begin to age and start doing more important things (like Bill Gates).
We will probably still see some Sheldon Coopers in the real world to make TBBT popular in syndication forever.
