Hertz launches a monthly car rental fee starting at $ 999

For $ 999 a month, subscribers will be able to choose from full size sedans, small SUVs and trucks. For $ 1,399 per month, second-tier customers will have access to luxury sedans, clbadic SUVs and large trucks. Both levels are cheaper than the Enterprise program. However, Enterprise allows customers to trade their vehicles up to four times a month, and Hertz allows only two exchanges. Both Hertz subscription programs include vehicle maintenance, roadside badistance, vehicle damage and limited liability protection.

Hertz My Car will be launched in Atlanta and Austin, Texas – markets on which the Enterprise service has not been introduced. Hertz considers this model as an alternative to owning a traditional car, which is becoming less popular in cities. The company shared a Cox Automotive poll that said 40% of respondents said access to transportation is necessary, but having a car is not. More than half of urban residents said that the possession of a private vehicle was not necessary. With Hertz and Enterprise testing subscription-based rentals, it is likely that other companies will follow suit. Perhaps they will fill a void left by carpool services that has not yet been filled by other carpool programs.
