What is the story?
205 Live superstar Hideo Itami could leave the WWE in the coming months after asking for his release from the company, according to a Fightful report.
Itami 's desire to leave the company marks the sixth superstar of the WWE who would have asked to leave the post since the new promotion, All Elite Wrestling, announced on New Year' s Day.
In case you did not know …
Itami built his name fighting in various Japanese promotions before signing with WWE in June 2014.
His time in the company was marked by injuries that caused him to lose momentum during his promotion, including the NXT championship victory at the Beast in the East special.
The heart of the problem
Itami has asked for his release for the WWE this week and would have finished with the recording of 205 Live this week. There was also talk behind the scenes that Itami would get his release from the company, unlike other superstars who asked to leave.
The former NXT wrestler also sent an encrypted tweet as a result of the announcement of his release with the words "Thank you".
The Revival's Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson were the first wrestlers to call for their release, but WWE did not want to let them go.
Mike and Maria Kanellis were the next WWE superstars who wanted to leave WWE, but Maria denied the news in a statement posted on Twitter.
Dean Ambrose was the last superstar to want to leave the company and WWE confirmed these rumors in an official statement Tuesday afternoon.

Many WWE superstars who get a release from society have a 90-day no-competition clause that prevents them from participating in other wrestling shows. If his application is accepted in February, then the sooner he could fight would be around April or May.
Itami built his wrestling career in All Japan Pro Wrestling, ROH and Pro Wrestling Noah before signing with WWE.
AEW is another company in which fans expect Itami to appear, but there has been no report of where he wants to fight next.
