His Excellency Papa Owusu-Ankomah, Ghana's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, urged British companies to develop partnerships with Ghana's private sector, particularly at a time when the country seeks to expand its manufacturing base in the sub-region. The appeal was launched when the High Commissioner invited the members of the Ghana Industries Association to a business roundtable held at the High Commission of Ghana in London.

The trade mission was at the invitation of the Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce in Birmingham and aimed at establishing mutual cooperation between the two industrial entities with the aim of strengthening and promoting bilateral cooperation in trade and commerce. ;investment.

The Business Roundtable organized by the Mission in collaboration with the Ghana Industries Association and the International Trade Department in Accra brought together business leaders, fund managers, bankers, lawyers, potential investors as well as transaction consultants.

In his address, the High Commissioner suggested that Ghana's economic success was not a coincidence, but that it was strongly recalled by the latest report of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that Ghana was the strongest economic growth with GDP growth estimated at 8.8% this year. . According to the High Commissioner, the IMF attributes this projection to improving Ghana's macroeconomic performance over the last two years and the strong economic growth of 2018.

According to the High Commissioner, the SE government, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is building a dynamic and sustainable economy, driven by the private sector. He therefore urged UK companies to actively engage their Ghanaian counterparts in order to create strong and intelligent partnerships with mutual benefits.

In her brief presentation, Ms. Happy Girl-Buthelezi, Coverage Director of the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) for Africa, said the CDC Group is committed to increasing its investment portfolio in Africa. However, she called on CEOs and companies to use transaction advisory services as needed in their quest for long-term funding from the Group.
