President Muhammadu Buhari said the country's control and the response to HIV and AIDS is improving.
He announced this in Abuja during the unveiling of the findings of the largest global survey on HIV and AIDS.
Kemi Balogun of Tvc reports that Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa with an estimated population of 192 million. It also represents the second highest burden of HIV and AIDS in the world after South Africa.
About 3.2 million people currently live with the virus in the country. The study of the indicator and the impact of AIDS in Nigeria is the largest ever done in the world.
Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari, wants stakeholders to use the survey effectively to improve the health system.
When the results are officially published, the experts ensure that the results of the survey are used for the effective and efficient planning of the
control of the disease in Nigeria.
The United States supported the survey with $ 70 million.
The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria also contributed $ 20 million to the project.
