Hollyoaks announced that James Sutton would make a moving return to the soap opera with his iconic character, John Paul McQueen.
The Channel 4 series followed the surprise departure of Harry Thompson, a cast member of the cast earlier this week, with the doubly exciting announcement of the return of Warren Fox and John Paul.
John Paul will be involved in a poignant story as he becomes a new figurehead at Hollyoaks High, following the recent arrest of Laurie Shelby.

His return to the village will also coincide with the release in prison of his rapist Finn O'Connor (Keith Rice), who was last seen collapsing with his mother-in-law Diane (Alex Fletcher) earlier this year.
"I am delighted to be coming back and replicating the role of John Paul, a character I hold dear," said James Sutton on his return.
"The actors and the team of Hollyoaks are some of the most beautiful and hardworking I've ever been to and I'm really looking forward to seeing them again. "
Producer Bryan Kirkwood added, "James Sutton's creation, John Paul McQueen, is one of the most beloved characters in Hollyoaks& # 39; l & # 39; history. We are delighted with his return, to bring some stability to the chaotic McQueen family and to be a figurehead at Hollyoaks High.

As mentioned, John Paul was involved in the critically acclaimed scenario of male rape, which had the merit of sensitizing the media to a problem that has often not received enough attention in the media.
Duncan Craig of Survivors' rights group Manchester celebrated the return of James Sutton in Hollyoaks as another opportunity to shed light on the issue.
"We are delighted to hear that our ambbadador, James Sutton, returns to Hollyoaks as a great John Paul McQueen, "he said. The groundbreaking scenario in which James was central to John Paul's role in 2014 had such a profound impact on us at Survivors Manchester and for male survivors in general that he helped us to lobby for funds specifically to support organizations working with men.
"The very first Human bad Support Fund was announced and I was proud to make a short film with James and the Department of Justice to celebrate that.

Hollyoaks is broadcast from Monday to Friday at 18:30 on Channel 4, with unpublished episodes broadcast on E4 at 19h.
