Hortifresh, a program supported by the Embbady of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, as part of its mission to establish a sustainable and internationally competitive fruit and vegetable sector, contributing to inclusive food and nutrition security, launched "the exporter-producer financial product to stimulate the production and export of horticultural products in Ghana".
The export-producer financial product aims to improve access to finance for smallholders and exporters in the fruit and vegetable sector in a sustainable way in Ghana.

The signing of the Export-Producer Financial Products Agreement was held on Tuesday February 5, 2019 at a Hortifresh fair at Blue Skies in Accra between Joekopan and the Rabobank Foundation with the full support of HortiFresh.
Joekopan is one of the top three exporters of vegetables from Ghana and has won the vegetable exporter award of the year 2013 and 2014. The Dutch company Rabobank is the largest AgriFood bank in the world. , with a strong presence in Ghana.
At the signing ceremony, the Dutch Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, Mrs. E. Carola Schouten, reaffirmed the commitment of the Netherlands to the growth of the horticulture sector in Ghana thanks to the support of the HortiFresh program.

She mentioned that the horticulture sector can provide many jobs, exports and sustainable economic growth in Ghana. She therefore called for collaboration between the private sector, research institutes and governments, as this cooperation has been key to the successful sustainable development of the horticulture sector in other countries.
In an interview with HortiFresh project manager, Ms. Shiela Assibey-Yeboah, she said that one of the key elements of the program is access to finance, through which farmers and businesses Export will be helped to expand their business to meet international standards. She added that HortiFresh would support the beneficiary, Joekopan, by providing technical knowledge and other types of support to ensure repayment of the loan on time.
HortiFresh is a program supported by the Embbady of the Kingdom of the Netherlands that has prioritized commercial agriculture in its strategic plan to move from Aid to Trade.
The program's mission is to develop a sustainable and internationally competitive fruit and vegetable sector that contributes to inclusive economic growth, food and security in Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire. The program aims to reach 15,000 farmers and increase their productivity by 20% by 2021.
